Sound of a Face
" I sat in my garden - the sky turned green gray - the leaves twirled and swayed - there was a gut-wrenching crash and the rain exploded, rinsing my face, soaking my hair. I could hear Shashi’s drum music and then her voice sang out – it was earth shatteringly beautiful – her lyrics and voice harmonizing with the sounds of nature." -Margaret, PA
Sound of a Face
Sound of a Face is Shashi's debut album, rich with the acoustic sounds of guitar, cello, Native American flute, drums, and bass. Her folky, earthy vocals weave through her passionate love for Mother Earth and all life forms, as well as her personal experiences on this journey called Life.
Gracing her CD with their fabulous talents:
David Schepps dances and dives with his exquisite 18th century cello,
Dan Teck plays glittering lead acoustic guitar,
Jan Wright's Native American flute sweetens and lifts,
Jeff Rapp echoes the heart of Mother Earth on his drums,
Michael O'Meara adds richness & texture with bounding bass.

"Shashi's light truly does come through her voice and songwriting on ‘Sound of a Face.’ It is relaxing yet exhilarating, timely and timeless. She is not only the face of the mesa (as depicted in the beautiful CD cover art), but the sound of the still mesa as well." -KF
"Your music is beautiful - we especially like the chanting and the Joni-like touches."

Julia Butterfly

I was deeply moved by the book The Legacy of Luna, the compelling true story of Julia Butterfly Hill’s incredible two-year residence high up in a thousand-year-old redwood tree, in an almost accidental effort to save its life from rampant clear-cutting of ancient redwood forests in northern California. Thanks to her courageous act of kindness, Luna, the two-hundred- feet high tree, is still alive and thriving today.
